Former Olympian, Chioma Ajunwa gets a three-bedroom apartment in Lagos, twenty-five (25) years after winning Nigeria’s first ever Olympic Gold Medal. The apartment is in the newly built Fashola Estate in Surulere.

After various setbacks in her career she achieved fame when she became the first Nigerian athlete to win an Olympic gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta after she jumped a distance of 7.12metres in the Long Jump Field Event, and to date remains Nigeria’s only individual Olympic gold medalist.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday June 24th 2021, presented the key to the house in a ceremony in Lagos.
